TP Mazembe’s success revealed

TP Mazembe versatile midfielder, Daniel Nii Adjei reveals what has made the DR Congo-based club such a success in both the domestic league and continental competitions.

The club has won the CAF champions league twice in the last five years and their domination in the Congolese league is there for all to see since the club was purchased by Moise Katumbi.

The ex-Kotoko midfielder who signed for Tout Puissant Mazembe and is a member of the quintet of Ghanaian internationals plying their trade in the DRC and in an interview with Boss Fm, Kumasi, the 27-year old admitted the club has a policy of revealing to new signings what the targets, dreams and aspirations of the club are.

He said, “the club's focus is on the champions league and not the domestic league. TP Mazembe psyche the players they sign by informing them the club’s focus is on the CAF champions league trophy and not the domestic cup.

“The club’s president and officials see the domestic league trophy as a must and a bonus and can’t afford to miss out when the ultimate (CAF champions league) is available for grabs, ” he added.

Nii Adjei scored a brace to win TP Mazembe’s third CAF super cup trophy on Saturday when they defeated Tunisian side, Etoile Sportive du Sahel.
