TB Joshua has no hand in Ayitey powers’s decision to honour May 16 bout

Prophet T B Joshua has not shown Ayitey Powers the green light.
The acting Public Relations Officer ¬¬(PRO) of the Ghana Branch of the Synagogue Church Of All Nations (SCOAN) Evangelist Samuel Excellence has indicated that the General overseer of the church Prophet T B Joshua did not influence the decision by Ayitey Powers to honour the May 16 bout between him and arch rival Braimah Kamoko a.k.a Bukom Banku.
In an interaction with the acting PRO of the Ghana branch of SCOAN, Evangelist Samuel Excellence noted that the Prophet did not sway Ayitey Powers’s decision to sign the supplementary contract to enable him honour the bout on the 16th of May 2014, contrary to the media reports that seem to suggest the man of God had given Ayitey Powers the green light to honour the bout. “Powers is a sports man, a professional Boxer, and has the right to take decisions on his own, this, Evangelist Excellence added”
Powers had earlier explained that on the second night of a three days fasting and prayers he embarked on, he had seen the Prophet in a dream cladding a white robe, signaling him out of excitement that the way is now clear for him to honour the bout, hence his decision to sign the supplementary contract.
This Evangelist Excellence refuted, saying the encounter Ayitey Powers earlier had with Prophet T B Joshua was in the man of God’s office and not in a dream, and that further correspondence regarding the way forward would have been verbally made.
The fight which was originally schedule for 18th of April 2014 hit the rock under some controversial circumstance when Ayitey Powers, after his encounter with the man of God prophet T B Joshua at SCOAN Lagos-Nigeria, decline to honour the bout on the schedule date, declaring publicly his desire to put the fight on hold. Basing his conviction on some wise counseling he received from the prophet.
This message from Ayitey Powers’s camp resulted in a protracted saga which compelled the authorities to reschedule the bout for 3rd of May before settling on 16th of May 2014 finally, amidst threats of causing mayhem and sanctioning Ayitey Powers coming from different quarters.
In a related development the schedule date for the bout had coincided with the Ga Traditional Council’s ban on drumming ahead of this year’s Ga Homowo festival, sparking a lot of debate on whether the bout will be called off or not.
