Swimming marathon for Pope project

Malta -- A swimming marathon is being held at the Tal-Qroqq national pool on Friday 3 October between 9am and 9pm in aid of the Pope’s project for the Millennium.

The Ghana Foundation is collecting money for the construction of a health centre which specialises in eye diseases to be built in Ghana. The health centre will be named after the Maltese eye specialist Sir Luigi Preziosi.

The foundation has also announced that Dingli parish priest, Fr Ruben Deguara, has recently presented the foundation with Lm325, being the proceeds of a solidarity day held in conjunction with the parish festa.

Associations and clubs who are interested in taking part in the swimming marathon are asked to contact the secretary of the foundation, Graziella Darmanin, at Media Centre.
