Supporters in Wa jubilate over Black Stars victory

Wa, June 27, GNA - Supporters in Wa on Saturday poured onto the streets to celebrate the 2-1 win of the Ghana Black Stars over the USA in the ongoing FIFA World Cup Tournament in South Africa. The supporters, most who were on motorbikes, blocked the road and displayed their motor riding skills, some which looked quite risky. The jubilant supporters, including children, took over the streets singing songs of praise and encouragement while mentioning the names of the players amidst drumming and dancing.

Vehicular movement was disrupted as they took over the entire streets and never heeded to traffic regulations. A visit to the drinking bars by the Ghana News Agency showed only a few customers, which the bar attendants attributed to government workers not having received their salaries. When the GNA visited the Regional Hospital in Wa, no accident case had been recorded.
