Reports in Nigeria indicate that the Super Eagles’ plans for the game against South Africa have been changed and one of their friendly games in Europe has been called off.

Nigeria are scheduled to host Bafana Bafana in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifying game in Uyo on June 10. The Super Eagles are expected to travel to France to spend some time preparing for the Bafana game in Paris.

According to reports, the Nigerians had hoped to finalise their preparations with a friendly game against Togo on June 01, while still in France.

However, it has now been reported by some media outlets in Nigeria that there has been a change in the planning, with Gernot Rohr’s side now expected to complete their preparations for the Bafana clash on home soil.

“The coach called off the friendly in Paris so as to concentrate on the AFCON qualifier against South Africa. The team will, therefore, come back to Abuja immediately after the match against Corsica,” Nigeria Football Federation spokesman Ademola Olajire has been quoted as saying by Allnigeriasoccer.com.

Newly appointed Bafana coach Stuart Baxter is expected to announce his squad for Nigeria on May 25.
