Sunyani Goes Gay After Starlets Victory

Space FM, Sunyani - The Sunyani Municipality went into ecstatic celebrations shortly after the Black Starlets defeated pre tournament favourites Brazilian 1-0 at the round of sixteen at the ongoing FIFA U-17 Championship in Korea.

The starlets who were forced to endure the entire second half plus 6 minutes of time added on with 10 men, handed their opponents the bitter defeat from the boot of Isaac Donkor in the opening minutes of the second half. The victory has qualified the starlets for a quarter final berth with Peru on Saturday.

The Atipimhene of the Berekum Traditional Area, Nana Gyan Gyau II, commended the technical team headed by Silas Tetteh, for mapping out strategies that marked out the Brazilians through out the game.

He said the Starlets' performance reminded him of his days as an active footballer."The boys played with passion and that is what we expect from all national players", he said.

Madam Akua Amponsah, a business woman, said the victory has brought so much joy to her and added that "if we do not even win the cup, I'm ok with the win the win over Brazil".

Mrs Theodora Asubonteng, the Chief Executive of Beauty In Virginity, was lost for words to describe how she felt after the victory.She could only manage "they have really made us proud, we thank God".

On the line from USA, Nana Yaa Abrafi Bonsu, Chief Executive of Redemption Care International, expressed joy over the victory and wished the starlets more victories"

A 28 year old second hand cloth dealer, Yaw Osei exploded with joy saying " to God be the glory and may the team continue winning all the remaining games".He commended the the playing body and the technical bench for making Ghana proud.

Miss Mavis Ankamah Quaye, a senior news staff of Space FM observed that " the Starlets played the typical African game, drawing rings around the South Americans who had scored fourteen goals and conceded only three. Indeed they started as favourites but we needed victory and we made it".

Mr Raphael Ahenu, the Chief Executive of African Media Aid, said " the 3-0 defeat handed the Black Stars by the Brazilian senior side during the 2006 FIFA World Cup was fresh in the minds of the Starlets and they gave us a sweet revenge".

Miss Faustina Maame Akua Konadu, a sales girl at Melcom, was full of praise for the Starlets. "the boys are simply good, they have made Ghana proud, they are the real masters of the game, I'm really glad to be Ghanaian".

Several spots in the municipality would certainly be jammed with joyous soccer fans deep into the weekend.
