Sports Minister Nii Lante Vanderpuye Sports Minister Nii Lante Vanderpuye

Youth and Sports Minister, Hon. Nii Lante Vanderpuye believes that Sulley Muntari’s apology is very sincere but admitted that Sulley was wrong to slap Moses Armah Parker but we should give him another chance to play for the Black Stars.

Muntari was in heated argument with Moses Armah Parker. Muntari slapped Moses Armah Parker and destroyed his gadgets worth $8000. Sulley was asked to leave the camp of the Black Stars after exhibiting that indiscipline act.

After the shambolic performance in Brazil, the President set up a commission of enquiry to enquire what led to the poor performance of the team during the Brazil 2014 World cup. It was recommended by the commission that Sulley should not be called back into the National team in other to maintain discipline at the camp of the Black Stars.

Speaking to Kwesi Pratt on Hot Issues, Mr. Vanderpuye said, “I don’t know about him coming back to the Black Stars because I don’t have the capacity and the mandate to decide who plays in the Black stars.

“I have heard his statement of apology and I think to some extent it is the right thing he has done. This is a Ghanaian who have realized that what he did in some way was improper and he has apologized and said I am available anytime you want my service, for me it is a good thing he did so it is to the coach to decide if he need him or he doesn’t need him.

“I don’t want to say that it was only the players that was indiscipline because some of the administrators are also indiscipline. I think when we all appreciate what is right to be done and we all do the right thing, the discipline will trig from the head to the down because if you look at the sequence, Sulley Muntari didn’t act well but the whole scenario indicated that one way or the other the individuals there did not act well.

“Everybody was indiscipline to the extent that the indiscipline was acted towards the minister and I said it wasn’t the right to be done but to ensure discipline, the administrators must be first be discipline first but what I want to say is that Sulley was wrong and I agree with that no matter what because he could have exercise patience and show some respects to the GFA management member but he now comes out and say I am sorry, I believe in second chances and I believe he sincere with that apology because his colleagues has come out and defend him as well and I believe he has talk to them.
