Former Accra Hearts of Oak SC board secretary Mr. Ernest Thompson has chided the club for constantly changing coaches, claiming that the trend needs to stop if the club is serious about winning trophies.

The current crop of Hearts of Oak players has failed to replicate the successes of those before them, leaving the club in an over a decade trophy drought.

Ernest Thompson analyzing the situation believes the instability within the coaching department is chiefly responsible for the club’s predicament.

He revealed this during an interview with Kumasi FM.

“If you have a club which management changes consistently like a revolving dog over the years, count the number of people who have been in management over the years.

“The technical team also changes consistently like a revolving dog, count the number of coaches and technical members who have been sacked.

“How can you win anything, those in charge really knows the cause of the problem,” Ernest Thompson told Kumasi FM.

According to the former SSNIT boss, any team bidding to sin laurels needs stability to build and achieve such a dream.

“Every team needs stability, a football team is like a machine. Most of the clubs which have done well and won have maintained their team but if the management and technical team are changing how can the team have stability.

“Who is responsible for getting quality players for the club, it is the work of the board and management,” he furthered.

Ernest Thompson has also highlighted the lacunae between the club’s leadership and the supporters as a major worry and wants this situation resolved.

“The team is also suffering from height power distance, you cannot lead people and there is a huge gap,” he said.

“There’s a complete disjoint between the supporters and the board and management.

“The supporters are fighting with the board, they don’t get enough information, others say they don’t want Togbe and the MD. It shows that the information flow is not right.

“The board and management need to improve their communication with the supporters.

“There should be periodic engagement with the fans to find out the ideas they have.
