Goran Stevanovic says he is keen to give local players the chance to play for the senior national team, the Black Stars.
With several players bidding for a place in the squad for the 2012 African Nations Cup, the Ghana coach explains that local footballers who show promise will have an opportunity of being selected into the national team.
Stevanovic, who has been observing the local league games, told Ghana Football - the GFA's official newspaper, in an exclusive interview that a place in the senior team is open to all.
"The door to the national team is wide open all the time and it is never shut on local players," the coach said.
"Ghana abounds in talent and there are a lot of good players in this country."
Stevanovic's selection policy has been dominated by foreign-based players but he explains that he operates an open system and it will remain so.
"We have already given some local players the opportunity to be in the national team. The likes of Ernest Sowah, Nathaniel Asamoah, Emmanuel Clottey, Daniel Agyei and Mohammed Awal have been invited and we will continue to give others who impress the opportunity."
