Today marks the birthday of legendary Ghanaian football icon, Stephen ‘Tornardo’ Appiah, who turns 37.

The former Black Stars Captain remains one of the most decorated footballers ever to emerge from the shores of Ghana considering his illustrious football career for both club and country.

The inspirational midfield maestro led Ghana to their first World Cup back 2006 where they reached the round of 16 and also led the team as they surpassed the round of 2016 berth in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

Appiah is still loved in Turkey after a successful three-year spell with giants Fenerbache and is considered a legend in Italy having featured for the like Juventus, Bologna Parma, Cesena just to mention a few.

Appiah is currently the Technical Coordinator of the Black Stars.
