Stephen Appiah picks new injury

Ghana Skipper Stephen Tornado Appiah is reported to have been hit by another injury which could keep him out of action for six weeks.

Asempa Sports sources say Stephen Appiah injured his calves at training with his new team, Bologna of Italy, ahead of this weekend’s Serie A clash with Udinese.

The match against Udinese was expected to have seen the return of Appiah to club football after staying clubless for a couple of seasons, partly owing to injury. He signed for the Italian Serie A side only a couple of weeks ago and is yet to feature for the team.

The sources hinted Asempa Sports that, Stephen’s new injury could take a minimum of two weeks and a maximum of six weeks to enable him return to form.

Stephen Appiah remains key in Coach Milovan Rajevac’s schemes for the AFCON 2010 tournament in Angola which begins in just four weeks.

Injury kept the Black Stars skipper out of the Nations Cup in 2008 hosted by Ghana, and another miss could be devastating to his is closing carrier.
