Stars reschedule Kumasi trip - Afriyie

The Black Stars of Ghana have changed their arrival schedule to Kumasi due to the long distance journey the team undertook yesterday after the Comoros game, Management Committee chairman, George Afriyie has confirmed.

The team arrived in Ghana this morning after the 0-0 draw with 117th ranked Comoros in Moroni and were expected to fly directly to Kumasi to continue preparations for the second leg on Tuesday.

But The Black Management Committee Chairman, George Afriyie has disclosed that the team will make a stop over in Accra, train in the evening before leaving for Kumasi on Sunday.

"The team was initially scheduled to go to Kumasi directly but we think we need to give the team some rest. We shall train this evening at the Accra Sports Stadium this evening and leave for Kumasi in the morning," George Afriyie said.

"Due to the high attendance at the stadium and the fans cheering the team up to the airport, our departure time was delayed and it affected our arrival time as well," George added.

The Black Stars drew goalless in the first leg of the double header of the 2018 World Cup qualifier and will be playing the second leg at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Tuesday.
