StarTimes should not have been the only rights holder for GPL - Palmer

Tema Youth bankroller, Wilfred Osei Kwaku Palmer insisted that the GFA made a huge mistake by making StarTimes the sole right holders of the Ghana Premier League.

StarTimes got the deal around the third week of the competition amid mixed reactions from fans and stakeholders alike.

In an interview with Asempa FM, Palmer revealed that he would have shared the rights across the stations so as to get more coverage on the competition.

“For me, I would have done an optimum TV rights deal with both GTV and StarTimes. GTV would have been given the chance to produce the content through barter and StarTimes will buy the content. I don’t think we should have sold the rights to one person. StarTimes currently have rights on matches that they do not show!”
