Accra, Sept. 2, GNA - Financial outfit, Stanbic Bank Ghana Limited on Tuesday rolled out a promotional campaign towards next year's Orange Africa Cup of Nations in Angola.
The campaign which has been dubbed "Stanbic Bank Open use and win promotion" is also geared towards raising support for the Black Stars campaign for the 27th edition of the biennial African soccer showpiece event.
Ultimately, the customer and his partner who emerges the winner would be sponsored by the Bank to watch the Orange Africa Cup of Nations in the oil-rich country, while attractive prizes await prospective participants.
To qualify for the promotion, one needs to just open an account with Stanbic Bank, while existing customers need to have an amount of money in their account to qualify for the promotion. At the launch of the event, Mawuko Afadzinu, Head of Corporate and Marketing of Stanbic Bank said the campaign confirms his outfit's commitment to the development of soccer from the grassroots level. "We are committed to supporting the entire chain that makes soccer complete as well as add value to it, and beginning from next year, such objective would be realized".
Mr Afadzinu added that series of programs have been lined up to whip up public interest ahead of the 2010 World Cup and Orange Africa Cup of Nations tournaments, amongst which include a tour of the trophy of the Orange Africa Cup of Nations.
Mr Riaan Klopper, Head of Personal and Business Banking noted that the promotion is a clear demonstration of Stanbic Bank's commitment to the development and promotion of sports in the country and beyond. He urged the clients of the Bank and others to patronize the Bank's products to qualify them for the promotion.
Nii Nortey Dua, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports assured of Government's support for the project while commending Stanbic Bank for rallying behind the promotion and development of sports in the country and the continent as a whole.
Kwesi Nyantakyi, President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) described Stanbic Bank as trailblazers when it comes to galvanizing support for the national team and commended the Bank for its efforts.
