Sports Ministry to meet Ghana FA

Sports Minister Dr. Mustapha Ahmed has revealed to Starr Sports he will hold a crunch meeting with the GFA over the delay of the premier league on December 14.

The meeting, according to the member of parliament for Ayawaso North, will address the current situation of uncertainty over the starting date for the Ghana Premier League; which has forced almost all the Premier League clubs to alter their pre-season plans.

The Premier league was tentatively to start on December 20 but as it stands, the FA seems to be in a dilemma over the exact date to commence the competition.

Speaking at a 'Youth Bridge forum' on Friday at the Alisa Hotel, Mr. Ahmed expressed worry over delay of the elite league.

“I have an appointment with the Ghana FA over so many pending issues surrounding football with my priority being the delay of the local league and the sponsors of the league’s partnership with the FA”, he told Starr Sports.

Meanwhile, the MP has rated his performance at the ministry as average and better than his predecessors.
