Sports management firm, Sports Cul Ghana Limited have announced a mouth-watering financial support fund for Ghana Premier League clubs, women football and Division One League clubs which will see them spend close to $44m yearly towards the development of the game.
The package will see players in the Ghana Premier League receive an amount of GHC2,000 at the end of every month with Division One League clubs taking GHC1,000 monthly.
Coaches will be paid between GHC5000 to GHC10,000 monthly while female footballers in the country receive the same as Division One League players.
An amount of $800,000 will be splashed on the media who will report on the local league matches and match officials who will be appointed to officiate the matches.
The management firm with partners in the United Arab Emirates have a topmost priority of improving the quality of play in Ghana that will also see each premier league club having two modern pitches of international standards while DOL and female football clubs will have a pitch each.
The eye-popping package from Sports Cul Ghana Limited will also see football clubs receiving GHC20,500 and GHC10,250 for Premier club and Division One and female football clubs respectively as accountable cash every month.
Speaking at the event, Media Coordinator for Sports Cul Ghana Limited Dr. Kwaku Ofosu-Asare emphasized on their determination and commitment to ensure the development of the game in Ghana.
“Sports Cul Ghana Limited and our partners from the UAE are committed to ensuring that we put in money into the development of football and other sporting disciplines in the country,” he said.
This breathtaking financial obligation has been hugely lauded by many pundits of the game as the turning point of football development in the country.
