South Africa-based trio handed Black Stars invites

South Africa-based trio of Fatau Dauda, Rashid Sumaila and Awal Mohammed will be named in Ghana’s squad to face Uganda and Togo in next month’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah is expected to announce his squad size for the two matches on Wednesday but three players will not be overlooked.

Goalkeeper Dauda is yet to kick a ball for his new side Chippa United because of work permit issues likewise Sumaila who plays for champions Mamelodi Sundowns.

Mohammed has been active for Maritzburg United and scored a goal in two appearances this season. They will be supported by key players Asamoah Gyan, Kwadwo Asamoah,Christian Atsu, Andre Ayew and Harrison Afful.

The Black Stars, who are four-time champions, begin their qualification quest inKumasi on September 5, before flying to Lome to take on Togo five days later.
