Burkina Faso striker Songne Yacouba has agreed terms with Asante Kotoko on a new long-term contract, putting an end to speculation over his future at the club, Footballghana.com can report.

Yacouba is in advanced negotiations with the management of the Porcupine Warriors over a possible contract extension.

The 29-year-old's representatives have been holding talks with club since the player's arrival last week as his contract is set to expire on April 2020.

The former the Stade Malien striker was linked with a move to several clubs in Africa including Orlando Pirates, Al Hilal, Zesco United and Nkana FC.

The experienced forward bagged two goals and provided five assists for Asante Kotoko in the CAF Confederation Cup last season.

He missed Kotoko's first match in the 2019/20 CAF Champions League against Kano Pillars in Nigeria, however, he is expected to play a part in the return at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
