Ghana international Solomon Asante returned to the TP Mazembe team for the first time this year after fully recovering from a thigh problem he picked up while on international duty.

The 25-year-old who is a transfer target for South Africa side Mamelodi Sundowns lasted the entire duration of the game as Mazembe comprehensively beat New Soger 4-0 in the Congolese league.

Asante travelled with the Mazembe team which woefully disappointed in the FIFA Club world cup in Japan last year but was unable to participate due to pains in his right thigh.

The former Berekum Chelsea man says he is feeling hale and healthy after getting his first 90 minutes in two months.

“Today I lasted the entire duration of the game, and I do not feel any pain,” Asante told GHANAsoccernet.com

“I feel we played very well as a team, and the result is very encouraging.”
