Solomon Asante delighted with tenacious display against Portland

Ghana winger Solomon Asante is happy with his tenacity in finding a goal during Rising Phoenix 6-1 win against Portland Timbers II in the opening match of the USL Championship.

Asante was by far the star of the show as the Arizona-based side made light work of the Timbers on Saturday.

The diminutive wideman provided three assists before scoring the final goal in the dying embers of the match.

Asante expressed his excitement over his ‘never say die’ attitude after finding the back of the net late on in the game.

“?I was looking forward to that goal, I was looking for it several time but as a professional player you don’t stop. You have to go all out, you don’t have to stop,” Asante said.
