Six regions to take part in La Route De Kumasi

Six regions across the country would be taking part in this years Cycling tournament dubbed La Route De Kumasi on Saturday, October 26.

In all, 16 clubs from six regions have registered to participate in the event which would be in three categories- - individual time trial, team time trial and a third one, where all the cyclist would be put in a pool for a race.

Mr. Francis Kpesenu General Secretary of the Ghana Cycling Association (GCA) said in a release to GNA Sports that seven clubs from the Greater Accra registered, while Ashanti region registered four clubs.

According to him, Eastern Region had two clubs, while Northern, Brong Ahafo and Central Regions have one club each in the race. Mr. Kpesenu said winners of the competition would be presented with trophies and cash prizes as well as products from sponsors, Cowbell Ghana limited, Pepsi, Guinness Ghana Limited and BIC. He said all cyclists should report by 0700 A.M at the Filling Station at Asafo-Kumasi on the competition day.
