Sekondi Hasaacas responds to Elmina Sharks match fixing allegations

Ghana Premier League side Sekondi Hasaacas have responded to the allegations made by Elmina Sharks on the fake friendly game played at the Essipong Sports Stadium on Friday.

Management of Elmina Sharks had announced on Friday they were unaware of the friendly game between the Academy side and Sekondi Hasaacas.

Hasaacas defeated Sharks 4-0 in that friendly game.

According to Hasaacas, the game was organized by Joseph Arthur and was played in two-legs with the first leg held on September 13, 2019.

Hasaacas in response have distanced themselves from allegations of match-fixing and have reported the issue to the Police to carry further investigations into the matter.

Organizer for the game Joseph Arthur is currently in Police custody assisting investigation while Elmina Sharks have disbanded their Academy side.

The statement from Hasaacas read:
