Seidu Salifu feels disempowered after having such a great season in Tunisia.
After the annexing the tightly-contested top flight title with Club Africain, the former national youth team player was expecting a callup in Avram Grant's latest Black Stars team. But it seems he has to wait some more.
"I am very disappointed," he said in reaction to the recently-named 23 man squad to face Mauritius.
The team has started camping ahead of their upcoming 2017 Afcon qualifier next week. That said he concedes "those called up are equally good players."
Having played in the Black Satellites as a midfielder, Salifu's recent triumph is his first career league title. His season has been great, having started 26 out of 30 matches for the Reds.
"For me as a player I want to play for my country and this is a big disappointment considering my consistency this season but...This is football."
Salifu has previously been called up into the Stars team that played friendlies against Senegal and Mali in France three months ago. The 21-year old played 80 minutes as Club Africain won 2-1 at Esperance Sportive de Zarzis on the final day of the league season and is already looking ahead.
He is expected to be part of the team that will play in the 2016 Caf Champions League for the Tunisians. "I feel very great because it's very important for my career. I'm the happiest guy in world because we fought from the beginning and this is the time to celebrate."
Ghana play Mauritius on June 14 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
