Seek opportunities outside Ghana – Herbert Addo tells local coaches

Herbert Addo Herbert Addo

Veteran Ghanaian coach Herbert Addo has advised contemporaries in the job to cast their nets wider by seeking job opportunities beyond the country.

The former Black Stars trainer is concerned by the growing number of very qualified coaches in Ghana who remain unattached after attaining the highest level coaching certificate on the continent.

According to coach Addo, the Ghana FA has organized several training courses for local Coaches but they are unable utilize those skills they have acquired due to the limited work opportunities available in the country.

He opines they leave the system to other jurisdictions where they can enhance their career.

“The GFA has organized courses for local coaches; we have over 200 License ‘A’ coaches who are just hanging.

“It’s about time they leave the shores of Ghana to go and look for opportunities somewhere. Because when you stay here, you will just waste your career,” Herbert Addo told Starr Sports.

Herbert Addo recently retired from active coaching.
