U.S Sassuolo have rejected a €13 million offer from Fiorentina for midfielder Alfred Duncan, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively report.
Duncan has been linked with a move to the Viola in the ongoing winter transfer window.
The 26-year-old has in recent weeks dropped down the pecking order at the club following strong performances from Jeremie Boga and Pedro Obiang.
According to widespread report, Fiorentina coach Beppe Iachini is keen to reunite with his former protege at the club.
Despite the player’s wish is to join the Artemio Franchi outfit, his asking price of €20 million is stalling the deal.
The Viola presented an offer of €13 million to Sassuolo, but it was rebuffed by the Neroverdi who are holding out for €20 million for their prized asset.
Fiorentina have however made Torino midfielder Soualiho Meité an alternative option should they fail to find agreement with the Mapei Stadium club.
Duncan is currently nursing an injury which could rule him out of Sunday’s league game against Sampdoria.
He has provided 5 assists and scored 1 goal in 13 games for the club this term.
