SWAG seminar for sports journalists on Tuesday

Accra, The Sports Writers Association of Ghana SWAG will commence a two day seminar for sports journalist on Tuesday, June 26 at the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Conference Hall at Ridge in Accra. The seminar, which will focus mainly on the intricacies of covering multiple sports events such as the Olympic Games, the Commonwealth Games and the All Africa Games, among others will attract high profile facilitators from the National Sports Council, the media and other affiliate sports bodies.

A release issued by the SWAG secretariat and signed by Mr Richard Avornyotse, General Secretary said the seminar would provide sports journalists the opportunity to refresh their knowledge about the rules of the various disciplines and enrich their lexicon to ensure an up the ladder reportage of sports.

It will also afford them the chance to identify the kind of preparations needed before a major multiple sport event, sourcing for information at such Games and identifying priority areas during such events.

The seminar, which will end on Wednesday, June 27, will dwell primarily on disciplines in which Ghana will be participating during the Ninth All Africa Games billed for Algiers early next month. The release entreats all participants and resource persons to be punctual as business will commence at 09:00 a.m. each day.
