SOCCABET, a Ghanaian owned betting company has sealed a thrilling sponsorship deals with four top teams in the Ghana Premier League (GPL) - Berekum Chelsea, Wa All Stars, Ebusua Dwarfs and Inter Allies.
The contract which was signed on Friday at SOCCABET’s Head Office in Accra will run for a three year period for all the four clubs starting from the 2017/18 league season.
Three of the four clubs signed onto the sponsorship, are former league winners with Berekum Chelsea winning the 2010/11 season, Wa All Stars 2015/16 season and Ebusua Dwarfs the 1967 champions.
According to management of SOCCABET, their decision to sponsor these four clubs was strategic as all clubs are spread across the country and have a good history in Ghana Football.
“We are extremely pleased and excited to announce our association with these four wonderful football clubs whose history and contribution to the GPL cannot be challenged.
“Not only is it worthwhile, but for us as a company, it is an amazing relationship. SOCCABET believes there is an incredibly strong alignment between our company’s vision, our commitment to sports in general and the club’s commitment to promoting high-impact results in the GPL.
“We believe these sponsorship deals are key as they allow the clubs to focus on continuous performance improvement while funding allows them to do much more for the club,” a statement from SOCCABET management said.
Mr Jamil Maraby, spokesperson for SOCCABET added that supporters of all the respective clubs would be provided with special packages and other exciting activities planned specifically for them during their home matches.
“We believe that the communities of these clubs must also be part of this wonderful partnership and should prepare to experience more, by continuing to support these clubs unconditionally, during the league season,” Mr Maraby said.
He noted that this gesture by his outfit affirmed their belief and confidence in the local game.
“There have been some challenges with the start of this season’s league, nonetheless, we are going ahead with our plans. This undoubtedly signifies our vote of confidence for the Ghana Premier League. Representatives of the Clubs - Oduro Sarfo (Berekum Chelsea), Oduro Nyarko (Wa All Stars), Ekow Ansah (Ebusua Dwarfs) and Gyan Mante Fedrick (Inter Allies) – all expressed their appreciations to SOCCABET and pledged to fulfil their part of the contract.
