SESSA games underway

Accra, July 5, GNA- The eighth-edition of this year's Security Services Sports Associations (SESSA) Games currently underway in Accra would enter its second day on Tuesday with packed activities. All the six participants, the Prison Service, Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), Ghana Immigration Service (GIS), Police Service, Fire Service and the Custom Excise and Preventive Service (CEPS) would take part in six sports disciplines.

In football, the Men's division, the Prisons would lock horns with the Fire Service for the first match while last year's whipping boys from the Immigration Service would engage CEPS for the second game billed for the El-Wak Stadium.

Women soccer that is making some impact in the competition would see the CEPS and Police Service playing the first game at El-Wak with Prison and Fire Service following suit at the same venue in the afternoon.

The El-Wak Stadium would host participants in the Tug-of-War event for both men and women with Prisons facing the Armed Forces whilst defending champions, the Fire Service would test their muscles with the Immigration in the Men's division.

The women's Tug-of-War, the Fire Service would face the Prisons as the top liner with the Police and CEPS sorting it out as well. The men from the Prisons and Armed Forces are expected to meet in a titanic clash in the Basketball event with CEPS and Police playing the second game while women division would follow the same pairings as that of the men.

The national hockey pitch would be the venue for women from the Prisons and Immigration in a promising game as well as another match between the Ghana Armed Forces and the Police Service.

The Volleyball courts at the police Headquarters would be the venue for the Prisons and the Immigration, while the Ghana Armed Forces also face the Police. In the women's division the Prisons would face Immigration while Armed Forces take on the Police.

In Handball, Fire service would play Police whilst Armed Forces and Prisons would meet each other in men and women divisions.
