Royal Knights beat Venomous Vipers

Cape Coast, July 28, GNA - Cape Coast Venomous Vipers were beating 1-2 to visiting Nsawam Royal Knights in a friendly soccer match played at Robert Mensah Sport Stadium, Cape Coast on Saturday. The match formed part of preparations by Vipers towards the second round of the Division One League which kicks off on August 2, 2008. After Referee Mawulolo Ahadzi whistled for proceedings it was Royal Knights who their determination to carry and rightly went ahead to score the opener in the 16th minute through right half-back, Benjamin Asamoah. The visitors continued to dictate the pace of the game and Asamoah, who played a yeoman's game was on target again to outpace two defenders of Vipers' to score the second goal in the 43rd minute. Vipers managed to pull a goal back a minute later through midfielder, Abdul Rahman.

After resumption of the second even though Vipers put up extra and played strongly to redeem their image as they made several attempts to find the equalizer, but they could not found the net until full time.
