Roger wins Telecom Invitational Golf tournament

Tema, Oct. 29, GNA - John Roger defeated John Francois on count-back after they had both returned a net score of 65 to win this year's Ghana Telecom Invitational Golf Championship at the Tema Country Golf Course on Saturday.

Michael Aggrey also beat B.G. Lee on count-back after the two had returned scores of 69 net each to take the third position while Anthony Mongari placed fifth with a net score of 70.

Esther Amedzro lifted the Ladies trophy with a net score of 68 with Margaret Owusu-Baah at the second position with 71 net while Esther Antwi took the third position with 72 net score.

Victor Brave-Mensah won the Professionals event with 136 gross followed by Baba Akologo at second position with 143 gross with Eric Henaku placing third with 144 gross while Paul Dossey took the fourth position with 145 gross.

About 150 professional and amateur golfers took part in the one-day 18-Hole Medal Play competition.

Mr Dickson Oduro-Nyaning, Deputy Managing Director of Ghana Telecom was assisted by Mr Kofi Gyau, Captain of the Tema Country Golf Club to present the prizes to the winners.

Mr Oduro-Nyaning said that Ghana Telecom would soon come out with a number of products to better their services. He gave the assurance that his company would continue to support the sport in the ensuing years.
