Robert Quaye wins national super lightweight title and pockets GHC 41.000 cedis

Robert Quaye has been crowned the national light welterweight champion and has also pocketed forty one thousand cedis after he defeated his opponent Addo Aziz Quartey at the Bukom Boxing Arena on Friday night.

The event which was dubbed the “Gh-Rumble” was organized by the Box Office Promotions in association with ETC Polska Promotions under the auspices of Government of Ghana.

Robert ‘The Stopper’ Quaye who is undefeated in his rank made history in his maiden bout of the year winning by a unanimous decision over Addo Aziz Quartey as the Judges scored 118-110, 117-110, 117-112 in his favor.

Robert has now amassed 15 wins and 12 knockouts.

Robert will now have to defend his title against Kpakpo Allotey in the next sixty days.

Businessman NIi Yanor Annan presented Robert Quaye with $1.000 dollars as his special cash prize for his victory.

The event was attended by the Vice-President of Ghana Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Sport Minister Isaac Asiamah, Accra Mayor Nii Adjei Sowah among others.

In other bouts fought on the night Prince ‘Octopus Dzanie won by TKO against Theophlius Tetteh whilst Fatiu Fazido lost by unanimous decision to Raphel Mensah from the Wisdom Gym.
