Right To Dream presents Marveled trophy to Tullow

Renowned Ghana based academy Right To Dream (RTD) on Friday presented the 2015 U15 Marveled International Tournament cup they won to its major sponsors Tullow Oil plc in Accra.

The elite youth football tournament took place from 29th-31st of May in Groenlo, Netherlands and featured twelve teams including PSV, Ajax and a host of others.

The Ghanaian side thrashed North London side Arsenal 4-0 in the finals to annex the 26th edition of the tournament.

In a ceremony to officially present the trophy to the management of Tullow, James Meller, Director of Partnerships of RTD, said determination and tactical discipline propelled the team to success.

He said with massive support from Tullow, the team would continue to put up impressive performances to challenge top clubs for laurels, as they seek to enhance the careers of the boys.

Tom Vernon, Founder and CEO of RTD, disclosed that “the Marveled tournament is the biggest youth competition in the world and to play against some of the biggest teams in the world and win, is a real delight.”

“These young players are building their capacity and I believe with good character and philosophy, they will become role models for others in future.

““We have other international tournaments and we hope to go out and make everybody proud.”

On his part, Chief Executive Officer of Tullow Oil plc, Charles Darku, commended the playing body and the coaching staff of RTD for what he described as an outstanding feat.

“We are Tullow are happy with your progress and promise to ensure we continue to offer our support. I will charge you not to get complacent, but continue to work hard and attain higher heights.”

“This is just the start to your careers and it a good feeling that you are getting all the applause and praises. But don’t let that get into your head because you have just begun, but I must say we at Tullow are very impressed and proud to part of this success.”

The academy over the years has produced exceptional talents, including Black Stars duo David Accam and Abdul Majeed Waris.
