Richie Commey rated 9th in IBF Lightweight ratings

The Commonwealth Lightweight champion moved a step up in the world ratings whilst countrymen, Frederick Lawson (no.12 Welterweight) and Albert Mensah (no.11 Super Lightweight) maintain their places.
According to a news release from the office of the President of the IBF and USBA, former IBF/Africa Lightweight King and the current Commonwealth Lightweight Champion Richard Commey has broken the number 10 barrier that separate men from boys in the IBF world ratings.
Richard a resident of Bukom, the fishing strip neat James Town in Accra, the capital city of former Gild Coast now Ghana setup in a mission to fight his way to the top of the world. Moving like a thunder leaving no opponent standing, Richard has achieved a milestone in the sport that requires courage and discipline to become a real champion.
At this time he would be in a higher ratings stage had his opponents not chickened out and he was left inactive for almost a year which is a decade in boxing.
His Ghanaian Samba dance entering the ring with a convoy of celebrating fans on toil has made many a his opponent very fearful. This is Richard Commey better known to his country folks as Azontos.
In the March IBF ratings has rated Richard Commey at #9 in the Lightweight and this is just the beginning as there are more to come!
The other IBF/Africa champions Frederick Lawson is rated at #12 Welterweight while Albert Mensah is rated at #11 in the Jr. Welterweight division respectively.
Several other African boxers are also shining on the March ratings whereas the Princess of African boxing Helen Joseph continues to occupy the #1 spot in the female featherweight division while Cameroonian Hassan N'Dam #1 in the Middleweight division.
Thabisco Mchunu of South Africa is rated at #7 in the Cruiserweight division whereas the champion is Yoan Pablo Hernandez Germany who won the title Oct 01. 2011.
Isaac Chilemba of Malawi is rated at # 5 in the Lightweight division whereas the champion is Sergey Kovalev of United States who won the title Mar 09. 2013.
South African Chris Van Heerden is rated at #13 in the welterweight division whereas the champion is Kell Brook of England who won the title Aug 16. 2014.
Namibian Paulus Ambunda is rated at #12 in the Jr. Featherweight division whereas the champion is Carl Frampton of Northern Ireland who won the title Sep 06. 2014.
