Richard Ofori's howler costs Maritzburg in Telkom knockout final

Goalkeeper Richard Ofori committed a blunder as Maritzburg United lost 2-1 to Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday in the Telkom Knockout final.

The Ghana international's mistake handed Sundowns the equaliser in the 54th minute.

He came out to try and clear Gaston Sirino's cross but missed it as Mauricio Affonso headed home to draw the Brazilians level.

Judas Moseamedi had given Maritzburg the lead in the 40th minute.

Sundowns scored the match winner in the 76th minute and it was Affonso again who netted from a corner after the Maritzburg defence missed the ball completely too.
