Ashanti Gold gloves man, Fatau Dauda has said that he made the best decision to return to the local scene after failed attempts abroad.

The oldest serving player in the Miners contingent, rejoined the club after he failed to nail a place in Orlando Pirates and Chippa United.

He believes the decision to join Bashir Hayford's boys was a call from nature, as he helped them win their first title in 19 years.

"I took a good decision by coming back to Ashanti Gold, it was a very good decision, one of the best I have made," the Black Stars goalkeeper told Joy FM.

"I believe that whatever happens in life, thanks must always be given to God; he knows best. My return to the local scene means God wanted me to come and win the league with Ashgold," Fatau said

"Since I joined AshGold in 2004, only Alhaji Sani and myself are the old guys in the club, the rest are new.

“So I believe God wanted me to come back and help the team win the league and I am very thankful to Allah for what he has done for me and the entire team", he concluded.

Fatau Dauda left AshGold to Orlando Pirates in 2013 after a successful Africa cup of Nations appearance.
