Nations FC have etched their name into Ghana football history after winning the 2025/26 MTN FA Cup despite suffering relegation from the Ghana Premier League.
The Abrankese-based club defeated Dreams FC in a dramatic final, prevailing 5-4 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in regulation time to secure their first-ever FA Cup title and book a place in next season's CAF Confederation Cup.
The victory sparked jubilant celebrations among players, officials and supporters, as Nations FC achieved a feat rarely seen in Ghanaian football.
Their triumph mirrors a historic achievement by Voradep, who in 1992 won the FA Cup despite being relegated from the top flight.
Voradep defeated Neoplan Stars 3-2 on penalties after a thrilling 2-2 draw to lift the trophy.
Thirty-four years later, Nations FC have become only the second relegated side to win Ghana's most prestigious domestic cup competition, joining an exclusive club in the country's football history.

The final against Dreams FC was fiercely contested, with both sides finishing level at 1-1 before the match was decided from the spot.
While relegation brought disappointment during the league season, the FA Cup success has provided a remarkable silver lining for Nations FC.
The triumph not only delivers major silverware but also secures continental football, with the club set to represent Ghana in the 2026/27 CAF Confederation Cup.
