The Regional Maritime Tennis Club thumped Ravico Tennis Club 6-5 in all Nungua affair special tournament between the two sides at Ravico Hotel Nungua last weekend.

The Ravico Club triumphed 3-2 in the singles tournament, but succumbed 4-2 in the doubles event, as the visitors grabbed the overall prize in the one-day competition.

Indeed, Ravico Tennis Club’s Bernard Annor, Mr. Thompson and Dan Solomey, were among the dominant players as the tournament opened with the singles games, even though Kojo Brumpong and Jacob Oheneba Amoakoh had shown the potency of their side with similar dominant displays.

But the rest of it turned into a one-sided affair as the visitors recovered from the energy-sapping exchanges of the sunny morning to dominate the doubles in an emphatic manner as the competition resumed later in the day.

The president of Maritime Tennis Club, Ebo Eshun, described the event as very useful for socialisation, exercising and networking, and said they were looking forward to host the Ravico Tennis Club later in the year in a return encounter.
