The Executive Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has approved the suspension of referee James Whittle Acquah for eight matches.

The approval follows a proposal made by the Match Review Panel after reviewing the GN Division One league match between Danbort and Okwahu United in which referee James Whittle Acquah awarded two bad penalties against the latter in the third and eleventh minutes of the game.

The Executive Committee, therefore, upheld the panel's recommendation to ban referee Acquah for eight matches with immediate effect.

He is however expected to be out of the game immediately and expected to return after eight matches.
