Referee Bernard Domfeh hails the appointment of Alexander Kotey as GFA's referees manager

Referee Bernard Domfeh has hailed the appointment of Alexander Neequaye Kotey as the referees manager of the Ghana football Association.

Mr. Kotey beat off competition from referee Thomas Attifu and CM Astatsa following a rigorous recruitment process by the Association.

He will head the Refereeing Department of the GFA and shall report to the General Secretary.

Speaking on the appointment of Kotey, Bernard Domfeh described Kotey as someone who has the experience and expertise to help the referees in the Ghana.

” He’s someone who will really help us , he has been a seasoned referee and has all the expertise so it’s a welcoming news.

“We are all happy that he has been selected. Refereeing in Ghana is on the decline, we hope he can revive it for us.” He told footballmadeinghana.com.

Alex Kotey won the 2006 Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) Referee of the Year.

He has worked as a Referees Instructor, Referee Assessor and also a Match Commissioner and is a FIFA – Futuro III Technical Trainee Coach, Referee Assessor.

He also serves as a CAF Technical Coach and CAF Technical Assessor and has previously served on the GFA Disciplinary Committee and the Referees Committee.
