Red Bull Academy Tame Tema Youth FC

Red Bull Academy yesterday put up a splendid performance when they reduced premier club Tema Youth FC to a mere ordinary side during an uncompromising friendly hostility played at the Sogakope.

Red Bull Academy opened fire on the visitors from the blast of the whistle and nearly got the opener in the first minute but experienced goalkeeper Ernest Sowah amazingly pulled a wonderful save to deny the Academy lads the lead.

Tema Youth FC ,having been left off the hook, started making incursions into the vital area of their opponents. In the sixteenth minute, former Starlets goalkeeper ,David Dadzie was called to duty when Bright Kafui tested his agility with a thirty meter shot which he scored full marks.

Ernest Sowah again denied Red Bull Academy goal celebration in the seventeenth minute when he acrobatically plucked a goal bound shot from Richard Arhin.

From this stage ,Red Bull Academy pinned Tema Youth FC to the wall in a bid to break the virginity of the game but miraculously they survived the onslaughts.

In the thirty-minute,Tema Youth FC could have opened the score sheet against the run of play but David Dadzie in a jaguar fashion had to stretch to his elastic limit to block a carpet shot from Salifu Hamza from entering his net.

Both teams continued to probe for the opener but wasted the chances they created until referee Listowell Zilevu from Akatsi whistled to end the first department of the game.

Back from recess, both teams made series of changes and appeared rejuvenated sides. In the fifty fourth minute ,Edem Towodjoh brought the crowd to their feet when he unleashed a missile of a shot from a free kick which Ernest Sowah spilt but Justice Kakkah who had a perfect opportunity from the rebound wasted that glorious moment.

In the dying embers of the game, Red Bull Academy came very close in getting last minute laugh but after subjecting the goal area of the visitors to series of bombardments ,they failed to plant the ball into the net and the shrill of the whistle ending the game was a big relief to Tema Youth FC which was led by Opeele Boateng as they left the pitch with soccer tutorials from the Academy Boys.
