Spanish La Liga side Real Betis are planning to sign Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong when the transfer window opens in June.
Frimpong is hungry for first team action after leaving his parent club Arsenal to join Fulham on loan. But it is unsure if manager Arsene Wenger will sell one of his academy graduates.
The holding midfielder has struggled for game time and failed to establish himself in the gunners’ first team.
With Arsenal being linked to a host of experienced defensive midfielders this summer, Frimpong cannot be guaranteed a place next season. Betis are currently seventh in La Liga and are very much in the middle of the race for a Europa League spot for next season.
Frimpong moving to Spain will also help his international career after making his debut in March in a 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier.
Arsenal are expected to shift most of the unwanted players from their wage bill this time, alongside their summer recruitment plans.
