Al Qadsia defender Rashid Sumaila has urged his side to use their heavy victory over Al Tadamon as a spring board to clinch this season's Kuwaiti VIVA League title.
The Yellow castle recorded their biggest win of the season as they annihilated Al Tadamon 6-1 in the Crown Prince Cup annihilated at the Farwaniya Stadium on Saturday.
Al Qadsia have had an indifferent start to the Kuwaiti top flight league, where they have collected just nine points and are occupying 3rd on the log after seven games.
But it is the cup competition where they have enjoyed a good run after picking six maximum points out of their opening two games.
And Sumaila, who proved his worth for the side once again with a stalwart display, has implored his team-mate to use the win to extricate their inconsistent season.
"We thank Allah for another good win today. It wasn't easy but we knew what we had to do to come out tops and we did it well," Sumaila told reporters after the game.
"The season has not gone as planned but gradually we are improving and in the two matches we've played in the cup, we have been ruthless so I'm happy.
"It is my hope that we can build on this in our subsequent matches to attain our goal at the end of the league. I've always maintained that I believe in my teammates."
The 24-year-old has found his name in three team of the week in the league after his magnificent start to the campaign.
