Rahim Ayew claims he's winning fight to reduce weight

Rahim Ayew claims he is winning the fight against being overweight in order to regain maximum fitness before the start of the second half of the Ghana Premier League.

The 25-year-old has joined Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko in his bid to relaunch his career.

Many have however had issues with the fitness of the Ghana international due to his excessive weight.

But the rugged midfielder says he is making significant progress on shedding off the excessive weight to put him in the perfect physical condition before the Premier League resumes in February.

“I am picking up gradually; I have lost about 10-12 kilos which means I am getting back to shape,” he told Metro FM.

“I keep training hard to ensure that I regain maximum fitness to ensure that I do well.”

Ayew has not played competitive club football since leaving Belgian club SK Lierse at the end of the last European season.
