Queens to be $9000 richer when they qualify

Oghara, Nigeria, Oct 29, GNA - Players of Ghana's Black Queens will be 9,000 dollars richer if they win their group matches and move to the next stage of the two-week competition.

Information pieced together by GNA Sports indicates that the players were made the promise prior to their Group B opening game against Mali on Sunday. Each player, according to a close source, is to receive 3,000 dollars winning bonus in the preliminaries.

Camaroun, who they meet on Wednesday, and the Democratic Republic of Congo are in the Queens' group.

A new package will be announced for the next stage of the competition.

The Queens won 1-0 against Mali on Sunday through a second half strike from Ramanatu Tahiru and another win on Wednesday will mean an automatic qualification to the semi finals. The Queens lead the group with three points after DR Congo and Cameroun drew one all in their opening game. The Queens are making a fifth attempt at winning the competition. The Super Falcons of Nigeria won all four competitions.
