Pure Joy Netball Tournament takes place Oct. 30

Accra, Oct. 27, GNA - The Netball Association of Ghana (NAG) will organize a special tournament on Saturday, October 30 at the Azumah Nelson Sports Complex, Kaneshie Accra as part of its preparations for international competitions.

The one-day tourney dubbed, "Pure Joy Netball Tournament" is being sponsored by T.T Brothers Limited and is also geared towards the promotion of the sport in the country. Reverend Emmanuel D. Nikoi, President of the Association told GNA Sports that participating teams in the tourney include Golden Pods Ladies, Fair Point Ladies of Kpone-on-sea, Royal Princess Netball team, Sampling Ladies of Accra Central, New Golden Hands Ladies as well as another team from the Western Region. Umpires to officiate in the tournament include Helen Macdoku of Asesewa, Koranteng Safo of Suhum, K. A Acheampong of Accra, Augustina Fugah of Ada Senior High Technical School, Eugene Tetteh of Accra, Felix Ocran of Kpone-on-sea, Fred Kpohar of Accra, Selina Lemptey and Godwin Dorgetor of Akatsi and Rebecca Tsotsoo Laryea of Accra. Nikoi said the technical aspects of the competition will be coordinated by him and his executive members and Cyril Quao, the Technical Director of NAG. He commended Isaac Tetteh, Chief Executive of T.T Brothers Limited for his continued support as well as GIHOC Distilleries Company, Ever Pure Water, Fan Milk Company Limited, Nestle Ghana Limited and Ice Cool Company towards the development of netball in the country.

At stake is a giant trophy and other consolation prizes.
