The qualifying for the 2010 World Cup reaches an important stage this weekend as Ghana and other competing sides prepare for third group matches in the final round of qualifying for South Africa.
Ghana would be away to Sudan at the Omdurman on Saturday with the desire to consolidate their position on top of group D.
The Black Stars who play their second consecutive away game in the qualifiers lead the 2010 World Cup qualifying group D table with six points, three ahead of second placed Benin.
Ghana, one of Africa's representatives at Germany 2006 have six points after its first two matches and the Black Stars would attempt to maintain their perfect start to the campaign against the Desert Warriors.
However, the Black Stars are faced with the tricky away tie against Sudan, who have a point from two games.
Milovan Rajevac, coach of the Black Stars is confident of a third win despite staying cautious with Ghana having completed preparations for the game in Kenya to help them acclimatise to the heat of Sudan. The Serbian has full squad to select from with all 22 players passed fit for the tie.“They (Sudan) would need to win or make their chances of qualifying much slimmer. Sudan have only a point and playing at home, they would not want to fail. But we have to be ready for a battle.
“We would be regarded as the favourites going into the game. But Sudan have a strong team when playing at home."
But Sudan coach Steven Constantine has told the BBC Sport that his side can get the win.
"We believe we can cause an upset," he said.
Mali with a point from two games and bottom of this group host Benin who also have just a point from their two games so far.
