"Poor recruitment is our bane" - RTU Official

Accra, Nov. 30, GNA - Jawhari Baba Duah, Secretary of Real Tamale United, has cited poor and non-strategic recruitment as the reason for the club's dismal performance in the ongoing premier league.

The "Pride of the North" are experiencing one of their worst starts since joining the elite division over two decades ago having bagged a miserable eight points from a possible 39 points, and Duah attributes the unfamiliar spell to the "low" quality of the recruited players.

The Club's Secretary told GNA Sports the recruitment exercise was poorly conducted and the result has been detrimental to the team's plight. "I think the best players were not recruited. Also, there was no due diligence of the recruited players and the result is nothing near positive." Duah added that not even the attractive motivational packages and regular salary payments had aided the club's revival. "The quality is not the best," he said.

After identifying the root to their problems, Duah said they had embarked on scouting for some players to strengthen the squad ahead of the second halve of the season. He expressed optimism that the injection on "quality" materials would be crucial in club's rise from the bottom rungs of the standings. 30 Nov. 10
