Former head coach of Accra Hearts of Oak, Mohammed Achmed Polo, has reiterated the need to take another look at grassroots football because it serves the fundamentals of thriving Ghana’s football.
Ghana can boost of numerous footballing talents but most of them are unable to make it to the next level due to numerous challenges which has hindered the progress of youth development in the sport.
According to the former Ghana international popular known as the dribbling magician, we need to pay attention to grassroots football and was excited about the fact that past football are picking up coaching roles to help young and upcoming talents.
Speaking on the Football Legends Night Show last Friday, Polo said: “We have to look at grassroots football, because that is where it starts, grows, improves and were we can get its perfection.”
He added: “I think the future is still bright, I like the fact that former footballers are trying to involve themselves in football because they are trying to put something on board.”
