Polo alleges he was sabotaged at Hearts

Former Hearts of Oak coach Mohammed Polo has accused members of the club of deliberately derailing his work during his short stint.

Polo, known as “Dribbling Magician” during his playing days, had a torrid tenure replacing David Duncan who was dismissed unlawfully.

Boardroom wrangling and player revolt meant Polo had to settle for third place finish in the league and painfully missed out on a CAF Champions League slot. Polo says he could have done more if he had the backing of the club.

“I have always said that I do not pray for any person to go through what I went through as Hearts coach,” Polo said.

“Almost everybody was against me, very difficult to work in those kind of surroundings.

“Management was also constantly on my neck for other documents and placed less emphasis on the result.”
