PW Sgt. Mary Ntumi Berko has officially retired from football after serving Police Ladies FC for 15 years.
Sgt. Berko joined the club in 2010 and remained a key figure in the team until 2025, ending an illustrious career marked by leadership, consistency and notable achievements.
One of the highlights of her career came during the 2015/2016 season when she was part of the Police Ladies side that lifted the Ghana Women's FA Cup.
She also played a significant role as the club finished second runner-up in the 2016/2017 FA Cup and in the 2021/2022 Women’s Premier League Super Cup.
In 2023, Sgt. Berko was appointed team captain, a role in which she demonstrated strong leadership on and off the pitch. Under her captaincy, Police Ladies reached back-to-back finals of the MTN FA Cup during the 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 seasons.
Her dedication and impressive performances did not go unnoticed, as she was honoured with the NASCO Home-Based Player of the Year Award for the 2024/2025 season.
